Words Are Not Enough

I don't think saying "I love you" is enough
To prove to you that this is not a bluff.
Words can mean a lot of things,
which can sometimes lead to new beginnings.

But though some words are really sweet,
You must always be ready to accept defeat.
For how can I know it's true
If, before you do, you wait for a cue?

Still, I trust that pain is something I'd never feel.
In your arms, I know the feeling is real.
